CHARITY CLUB WARM WITH LOVE: A JOURNEY OF SPREADING LOVE ACROSS THE REGIONS OF COUNTRY
Charity Club Warm With Love was founded by Saigon Construction Corporation (SCC) on June 28th, 2019. Over three years with the mission of “spreading love”, the Club has set its footprints in around 30 provinces and cities, hold more than 100 social security programs with a total budget of more than 10 billion Vietnam dong.
Volunteer footprints
Although the Club has only been in operation for three years, the footprints of the members of the Charity Club Warm With Love have been printed everywhere from remote areas to highlands, where have miserable and poor people.
They are the regions with sunny and Laotian wind, Ha Tinh and Quang Trị provinces, where the families of Agent Orange victims still suffering with physical pain every day; Ca Mau province with salty drought causes cracks in the fields, where people thirsty because of lacking of pure water or the deep-cold land, Lao Cai province, where children yearn to go to school for a bright tomorrow.
It is not possible to mention all the places the Club has set foot through, nor can discribe all the difficult situations that the Club has directly witnessed. Going, seeing, understanding and sympathying have motivated the Club’s members to act, embarking on a series of community-oriented programs for the poor, the Agent Orange victims, especially the children who need supporting to be able to go to school.
The journey of spreading love
Coming to remote and mountainous areas, especially poor and difficult mountainous districts, are the educational development programs which the Club has devoted a lot of effort to implement such as building bridges, building schools, sponsoring to upgrade the libraries, computer rooms, make water boiling stove systems and scholarships for poor students who overcome difficulties.

The projects sponsored by the Club such as the boarding house of Tra Cang Ethnic Minority Primary Day School (Quang Nam province) with a budget of 650 million VND, Tan Hiep culvert pipe bridge (Phu Yen province) with a budget of 2 billion VND, 10 friendly libraries of the program. ” Spreading love – Nurturing knowledge” with a budget of nearly 800 million VND in Quang Nam, Binh Dinh and Phu Yen provinces, 9 water boiling stove systems “Warm with love” with nearly 300 million VND in Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Ha Giang and Cao Bang provinces were inaugurated in the happiness of teachers and students of mountainous schools.

Not only coming to remote mountainous areas, the Club’s loving journey also came to the central “flood navel” regions, where thousands of people are living under the sky during the historic flood in 2020, to give 2,000 relief gifts which worth 590 million VND for poor households in 13 communes in 3 provinces of “flood navel”, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Tri and Quang Binh provinces. The 5-day journey went through many seriously flooded places is an unforgetable journey for the Club in the days of October 2020.

With the spirit of solidarity, in the period when the whole country has to face with the Covid-19 pandemic, the Club has implemented many supporting programs for the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, supporting Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi cities, Vinh Phuc, Thua Thien Hue, Ca Mau, Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces in disease prevention.
In addition, the Club also donated 52 tons of rice, more than 34,000 meals, 5,500 protective suits and many other medical and support equipments to help the poor in quarantined areas to overcome difficulties during the epidemic period, supporting the frontline team in disease prevention with a total support budget of more than 1.8 billion VND.

Besides, many social security activities are also actively implemented by the Club such as building gratitude houses and providing monthly living expenses for the families of Agent Orange victims; giving saving books to families of war invalids and martyrs, awarding scholarships with a total value of VND 250 million soldier’s families in difficult circumstances and poor students on Truong Sa Island, donated 120 water tanks for people in the drought-stricken area of Ca Mau province with a total value of up to 266 million VND…

In addition, in August 2022, the club also announced to continue to build 10 gratitude houses for Agent Orange victims in difficult circumstances. In September 2022, the Club announced to award 5 “Study-loving Scholarships” to 5 excellent students with difficult circumstances currently residing in Tho Chu island and Phu Quoc island, Kien Giang province. Each student receives a scholarship for around 7 years, estimating for 3 years of high school and at least 4 years of university. The total estimated funding budget is currently at VND 2,700,000,000. The Club also supports tuition fees and monthly living expenses in 1 year for 4 other disadvantaged students with a total support cost of nearly 100,000,000 VND to help them have better study conditions.

Happiness after all
It can be said that, in the past 3 years with more than 100 programs implemented, the Charity Club Warm With Love has contributed to share some of the difficulties with people in drought and flood areas, to solve the problem about the safety of students, teachers, and local people every time the rainy season comes, when the bridge is built and the boarding house is completed; to support poor students to overcome difficulties to continue going to school; to build the habit of reading books, incubating knowledge for students in mountainous areas; to take care of the lives of the families of martyrs and Agent Orange victims and soldiers in remote islands, to support the medical team, soldiers who are fighting with the epidemic day and night and to help the poor, difficult and unhappy people in society, etc.

Then in every journey that has passed, the members of the Club have witnessed from the indescribable joy, the bright joy on the austere faces to the tearful emotions and the rays of hope about life and about the future is lit up in the eyes of the students and the local people who receive support and help. Those are also the motivations for the members of the Charity Club Warm With Love to continue their journeys to spreading warmth and love to remote and poor areas.
